Equipped: In-Game & In Real Life

Beyond Gaming #18 | Linking Gaming, Mental Health, & Psychology with Eliza Verzosa

Reniza Gonzales, Eliza Verzosa

cw: mental health, depression

I tend to find myself amazed by how much gaming can be related to so many different facets of our lives. And though gaming overall is fun and exciting, I appreciate how it also opens doors to talk about deeper (and equally important) topics - which this week, happens to be all about mental health.

I’m honored that Eliza Verzosa joined me in this episode as she shares her story about recovering from depression, switching from Nursing to Psychology as a profession, and using gaming to advocate for mental health.

I learned so much from our conversation and my only hope is that you can too! :)

ELIZA’S QUESTION OF THE WEEK:
What is a lesson that you learned from the latest game you played?
